“XXX from Milano” emerged as a temporary appendix to the beauty of the location, highlighting its iconographic character.
In the historic crossroads of Milan, Lea Ceramiche has created a meeting of ideal and real in which 13 ceramic bodies have designated the phrase “XXX from Milano” and suggested a free path which simulates a new typography and has suggested many different visions of reality. Each element was finished laterally with glossy ceramic strips from the Lea Ceramiche Project L14 collection in X-Brown colour.
The brilliant brown of the ceramic material was underscored by the joint in a vibrant yellow colour: the Ultracolorplus produced by Mapei, a leading company in the field of adhesive and chemical products for construction, which was present with Lea Ceramiche at the Milanese installation. The superficial parts of the bodies, made in lamé with mirror finish, lent an unpublished look to the intersection of the faces of the Gallery which, in this manner, drew near to the visitors and were re-drawn by each one based on the point of view.
The ceramic bodies in the Gallery designated a path in the real dimension and assumed a significance if viewed from yet another point of view, high and global, recorded by a camera and shown to the public through various monitors. So “Saluti da Milano” became a Lea Ceramiche postcard to photograph, record and, above all, to live: a bureaux area and a relax provided information, possible paths and a moment for a break in the heart of the city. The XXX from Milano project confirmed, even on this important occasion, Lea Ceramiche’s will to probe ever new scenarios and always unexpected creative contexts.
"Since 2003 I have created five collections for Lea Ceramiche, which have marked several key moments in a process of interpreting the material, a process that has been constant over time."
